Maurici Perramon Font was born in Manresa on December 24th, 1923; son of Maurici Perramon i Casasayas, an entrepreneur who manufactured ribbons at the age of 20 years old and established a ribbon factory where high quality ribbons were produced using the technology of the most advanced looms. He had six brothers that used to get together very often, as her mother Llúcia, along with her husband, instilled them the importance of the family ties.
Around 1949, Maurici Perramon became the Technical Manager of Perramon & Badia. Looking for a powerful motor that provides energy during periods of power restrictions, he contacted the brothers of the Tachó family. His professional and personal relationship resulted in the birth of AUSA.
Maurici Perramon married Carmen Ferran Saladrigas in 1952, they had 9 sons and, along the years, 18 grandchildren.
In 1956, Maurici Perramon together with the brothers Tachó and Vila founded AUSA, where he worked hard. Maurici Perramon was the General Manager and his father was the Chairman of the Board. From 1966, Maurici left the Management of Perramon & Badia to devote himself to the Management of AUSA.
The technological innovation, the quality of the product and the good after sales services were and are the values that, from the beginning, have marked the history of AUSA.
With AUSA, the steel industry of the area, which until then had been mainly engaged in textile sector, is diversified and it has also improved technologically. Throughout its history, AUSA has been producing wealth and it has enabled the personal realization of many people.
AUSA finds a new niche of market manufacturing dumpers, which were not known in Spain since that moment. This is the beginning of a new business step.
During the continuous growth of the company, Maurici Perramon assists at IESEBusinessSchool in Barcelona, which allows him to expand his vision of the big potential of AUSA.
From the 90s, with Maurici Perramon as the Chairman of the Board and the second generation already incorporated in several departments, the company professionalized its management and keeps on innovating in products and in assembling and managing systems, ensuring the sustainable progress of AUSA.
The Generalitat de Catalunya granted him the medal President Macià in 1994. Maurici Perramon also received a special mention to his innovative effort at Saló de l’Automòbil de Barcelona in 2004. He received the homage from the construction machinery sector at Smopyc Exhibition 2006 inZaragoza too.
His know how to be/do and his style of management have became the AUSA values that have made possible the development of the “big family” and company” of future”.
Maurici Perramon became Honorary Chairman and Advisor of the Board of Directors of AUSA in 2010.
He also had a full life out of working hours. He enjoyed his leisure with his family instilling respect and love to his wife and children. Some of the sons are still working in AUSA, some of the others decided to follow different ways. Maurici Perramon also had the luck of having a doctor in the family, one of the daughters, who has been always dedicated to the family.
Maurici Perramon had also a full social life. He was actively involved in various associations such as Ple de la Cambra de Comerç i Indústria de Manresa, l’Associació Catòlica de Dirigents, Patronal Metal·lúrgica del Bages, Patronat dels Amics de la Seu de Manresa & Moto Club Manresa.
Maurici Perramon highlighted due to his strong entrepreneurial skills. He was a person able to enjoy with all the different activities that he has developed, and also getting involved with a high sense of responsibility. He always wanted to promote the effort, the training, the exemplariness and the teamwork with the aim of improve the quality of life of the people. Throughout his life he knew how to impulse his actions with a great exemplary, prudence and loyalty to the others. Maurici Perramon will be also remembered as a very sincere person with a high ethics. His life was austere without ostentation, and valuing the simplicity of things and being generous with the others.
