AUSA Launches New 9-Tonne Reversible Dumper Featuring AI-Assisted Safety System

AUSA, a leading manufacturer of compact all-terrain industrial vehicles, today unveiled its new 9-tonne reversible dumper, the DR902AHG, a machine designed to deliver high productivity for large-scale earthmoving projects while introducing a new standard in dumper safety through the debut of the AUSA AI Vision, an AI-assisted intelligent visibility and person-detection technology.

The DR902AHG is an all-new reversible dumper that offers the latest in safety innovation, combining a 9-tonne payload capacity with a suite of advanced technologies designed to address one of the most persistent challenges on construction sites: Limited visibility around dumpers, which increases the risk of accidents involving nearby workers.

AUSA AI Vision comes standard on the new 9-tonne model and will be available as an option on other dumpers across the AUSA range, extending the technology's benefits to a wider range of customers and applications.

"Dumpers are among the most widely used machines on construction sites; historically, though, the visibility limitations around the machine have created challenges for equipment operators and crews," said Albert Hidalgo, AUSA R&D Director. "With the launch of our new DR902AHG and the introduction of the AUSA AI Vision safety system, we are taking a significant step forward in helping operators identify hazards, protect workers on the ground and create safer job sites. This technology reflects AUSA's commitment to leading the industry through innovation."

Built for Demanding Applications
Designed for rental companies and medium-to-large contractors, the DR902AHG is engineered for demanding infrastructure and construction projects where high productivity and safety are critical.
It is purpose-built for a variety of applications, including road construction, industrial developments, infrastructure projects and large-scale construction sites outside urban environments. The machine serves customers who require greater payload capacity and productivity than traditional mid-size dumpers while maintaining excellent maneuverability and operator comfort.
Key features of the DR902AHG dumper include:
•    9-tonne payload capacity
•    Reversible driving position
•    Swivel-skip configuration
•    55.4-kW Deutz engine
•    2.99-m overall height
•    Easy-access maintenance design

The new model builds on AUSA's proven dumper platform while introducing advanced safety technology to help customers improve operational efficiency and reduce job site risk.

A New Generation of Dumper Safety
At the core of the DR902AHG launch is the innovative AUSA AI Vision, a patent-pending technology that provides operators with unprecedented awareness of their surroundings.
AUSA AI Vision combines five strategically positioned cameras, artificial intelligence and radar technology to help eliminate blind spots, identify nearby workers and provide real-time visual and audible alerts. Designed specifically for dumper applications, the system continuously monitors the area around the machine and supports operators in making more informed decisions while maneuvering and transporting materials.
Four cameras positioned around the skip area incorporate person-detection technology to identify nearby workers and determine their distance from the machine in real time. The four cameras work together to generate a real-time bird's-eye view displayed on the in-cab monitor, providing complete visibility around the skip. The system highlights nearby people using color-coded visual indicators based on proximity:
•    Red zone: Person detected within 0-3 m of the machine
•    Yellow zone: Person detected within 3-5 m of the machine

A fifth camera mounted above the cab provides the operator with additional visibility.
Acoustic alerts inside the cab increase in intensity as people move closer to the machine, while external audible warnings notify nearby workers whenever the dumper approaches an occupied detection zone.
To further enhance situational awareness, a radar unit installed on the skip side complements the camera system. While AI Vision focuses on detecting people, the radar identifies objects and obstacles around the machine. The radar extends the detection range beyond the camera system's 5-m coverage, dynamically adjusting warning distances based on machine speed to provide operators with additional reaction time.

The introduction of AUSA AI Vision represents an important milestone in the company's technology strategy, reinforcing AUSA's position as an innovator in compact off-road equipment. By bringing advanced visibility, detection and warning capabilities to the dumper market, AUSA continues to invest in solutions that support operator awareness and efficient earthmoving.
